About Us

Taken from Koine Greek, παράκλητος (paráklētos, paraclete in English) is defined as: A helper, advocate, or one who intercedes on another's behalf. 1 John 2:1, τεκνια μου, ταυτα γραφω υμιν ινα μη αμαρτητε. και εαν τισ αμαρτη, παρακλητον εχομεν προσ τον πατερα ιησουν χριστον δικαιον. (My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.) In this passage we clearly see paraclete used with the intercessory meaning.

Digital Paraclete is designed with the help/helper definition of paraclete in mind. All of the topics arise from personal study, many of which have required fairly extensive searching and cross-checking in order to establish the facts. The goal then is to play the 'helper' for others who are also interested in these topics by presenting the information in a clear, concise, and complete format. Despite this, you may still wish (and are actively encouraged) to look at additional resources for confirmation and added insight, but the hope is that you will not NEED to in order to have a complete, albeit basic, understanding of the material.

In all things on these pages there is an attempt at well reasoned logic. Then you see the comics link and think "surely you're joking!" However, if you do not apply any thought or logic to something even as simple as your comic selection you may one day find yourself holding a copy of Alf and possibly Tarot: Witch of the Black Rose. Starting with Alf you might think, "ok, yep they were right...". Continuing on with Tarot though you'll probably find yourself thinking "You know what? Alf isn't that bad after all. I'm going to go read some more of that one!" Now surely I am joking :) Just stop calling me Shirley.

In all seriousness though, there is a time for fun and entertainment and I freely admit that I like comics as much as anyone else might. In this you should be discerning because there is simply too much to read otherwise. My hope is that you will enjoy the comics that I post. I have fun creating them and readily acknowledge that there is MUCH room for improvement in my artwork and prose. The best way to learn however is through practice so you get to see this work in progress.

For other topics, such as Daz Studio or Blender (under the Graphics Design tab) you are simply seeing the manual that I wish I had as I was / am learning these awesome software packages. If I have to search or dig through multiple forum posts or reference manuals in order to piece together an answer to something I encounter during normal, routine use of this software, I AM going to document it. These topics are as much for my convenience as anything else. Maybe they will be useful to also.

On programming and religion though there is a much different intent. BOTH of these topics greatly benefit from a thoughtful and logical approach. A well reasoned argument in either topic should be able to stand up to a great deal of scrutiny and be appreciated for both the methodology and the result. Even if an argument is shown to be invalid, it should present it's steps in such a way that a critic can point and say "Here, here is where your idea breaks down." Our society has moved away from any concept of what constitutes formal debate. Instead we tend to substitute this very concept with that of arguing (and almost never from a well reasoned point). Agree or disagree, it is my hope that all material is presented in such a way that you can see why a particular conclusion is arrived at. If you agree with a conclusion, this may simply reinforce that agreement or possibly present you with a different approach for defending it. If you disagree with a conclusion, this may help you understand the position of others who do agree with it and possibly help to formulate an approach for disproving it.

In some discussions it has come to a point where it is suggested that perhaps the intercessory or advocate meaning of paraclete would be equally appropriate. While flattered at this thought, there is only one who is our true advocate and intercessor. In all things I am content to merely aspire to be worthy of the role of helper.

Please enjoy :)
